Lyzbeth FAQ
I thought learning about us would be easier to understand if this was like a FAQ, where questions are asked and then I tell you about them. If you still don't understand something, please email me at tigby_noone@yahoo.com!
Q: What is the purpose of this site?
A: To create characters as an RPG, to help inspire those of you who love to write fanfiction, and to unravel your imagination for those who are searching for something new to be or fan art to draw. We try to cover all the bases, and if we've missed anything, please tell us. For those of us who like animals in their natural form, there are the Fleg forms, and for those who enjoy furries or "werecreatures" you have the Bileg form. Both speak a form of English and their native language (growling, barking, purring, etc) if any at all, see the language page for more info on that. You create your own character, and please make your character interesting, and then use it for fan art, or fanfiction, or in one of our many RPGs. Yes, you can be in more than one RPG, and you can submit fan art or fanfics as well as be in RPGs, there aren't any penalties against being in everything! Do not overuse your character though, create another character if you can, one who is different. The reason for this place is to meet other people, bounce ideas around, use each others characters in fanfics (with permission), and enjoy the secret world of The Lyzbeth.
Q: What's the story?
A: We have been locked in our own secrecy, vowing that no human should ever find our several species; hiding, thriving in the most remote places on Earth. Some hide to wait to conquer humans, others hide to live without human interference. We realised that if they were ever to find us, scientists would disect us, and the rest of the world would destroy us. We are forced to stay in our own part of the world, where humans wouldn't choose to tred. Some of us cannot stay concealed or must use flight on a daily basis..which create many myths as a result, like UFOs. We tell you for one reason alone. To place before you, a new form of life. All Clans, except the Donovans, feel that if humans knew more about us, maybe they wouldn't act negatively, not hunt us for money, sport or for a new breed of pet. But to let us be free as we are now, and to treat us with respect. I am one called Tigris, and now I speak on behalf of all.
Q: What is the Lyzbeth?
A: The Lyzbeth is a special society of creatures that hide in the shadows, under a word of secrecy. We call ourselves the Lyzbeth, because we are advanced in mind compared to the ones you know. We are as smart as humans, yet our technology isn't as advanced as yours. We come from the world you once knew, from the English Renaissance, through Elizabethan times, til the America's early settlers. We call ourselves "creatures" instead of "animals", because when you think of an "animal", you'd think of four-legged primative creatures, which has become a rather rude, negative word to call someone, and we definately are not primative. We have certain tribes, or clans, which we belong. Some of us older Lyzzies watched as your minds grow, and your technology blossom. We learned with you as Flegs, or "unevolved" creatures, throughout most of your early years. After your creations and inventions grew to more than horse-buggies and bows and arrows, and seen your war over the native humans land, it made us wonder what the fuss was about and that war was reasonless other than the way to keep the human population down. We hated your war, because what affects humans affects us as well, and many of your troopers and bombs have spilled into our villages. Soon enough, we learned of deception and greed..which is why we now do not use money, but learn to give, trade and help each other coexist. As you now live in the 2000's, we stayed hidden for a long time, so we are used to living the way our ancestors did, living in primitave houses, although some do have a type of plumbing. We chose not to update our technology and still live the way humans once did long ago, because we feel we don't need dirty cars or strange machines. For you, it would be like taking a trip back in time if you were ever to stumble upon our villages. If humans were to see us, our world would end. Humans are frightened when it comes to things they do not understand, and fear soon become rage, and eventually we feel they would propose war upon us and their technology is far more advanced and we would never survive the attack. If we spot a human within the area, we set traps that are like the traps that humans set out for animals, mostly nets and have the LSOHA group chase them away. Our lives are filled with the Earth, nature, and relaxation. Each tribe depends on each other. Hodges supply garden food, Bards and Hodges both supply clothing and cloth. Donovans do metalsmithing and metalmining (for weapons, armor, or farming tools). Bards do stonemining and metalworking for jewellery, woodworking (from statuettes and carved staves, to house/pub signs), basically the keepers of the creative and devine and will carve tables out of wood or marble for a price. Sheas supply wild herbs for many other Clans uses, Aubreys make elixers for curing colds and other effective serums, and Ingrim deliver letters and packages. Every Clan is interlaced, and if a Clan becomes extinct, it will shake the system and will end in disaster.
Q: So what are these creatures like?
A: Some of us were fortunate to evolve from four legs to two, by way of being born with this "deformity", which are lengthened hind legs and the gift of balance to keep us upright. Most of us have not adopted a religion, and either worship the earth or just believe in good luck. We've seen that in the beginning, nearly all humans held some form of religion, but we never fully understood yours and found it quite unadaptable since you say that your God is molded after yourselves, in human form, and yet others say He is only a spirit and has not a true form. So many different views in many different cultures of your world. The Aubrey clan is the only one who worships an actual thing or spirit, a star. The Bards worship nature and their Fleggan elders as the creaters from which they've decended, looking upon them with a great respect. We all have our likes, pet-peeves, and hatreds for one thing or another, as you do. We haven't a government, but have our basic rules which all Clans see to and abide by. Most of us only consume insects, plants, fruits, vegitables and free-growing eatable flowers or berries. Some eat the smaller animals like rodents, but do not for sport, and show respect to them because they are their food source and another living creature. Our way of living is not to harm, but to balance life. We will not hurt any pet or livestock you possess. Though, I cannot speak on behalf of the Donovans, who care not for humans and some do not wish to conceal themselves. They might give us a bad image, which is unjust to the rest of us.
Q: Where do I begin if I want to join this place?
A: First, look at the Clan pages. When you decide what you want to be, look at the list of names and look under the list to know more about the names, then create one for yourself. If there is more than one "breed", decide what you want to become. Then, go to the Secretary Office (which doubles as a Fan Art page) and follow Mortomer's instructions. He will direct you from there.
Q: After I join, what then?
A: After you are signed and you have your ID number, join the Y!Group as your charecters name. I will see your name and realise that you have an ID number already (and are not just a walk-in visitor) and your "pending membership" will be over, and you'd become a member. After you are a member of the Y!Group, take a big sigh of relief, because all the work and waiting is over! Now you can begin to have fun. At the group you can talk to other members about fanfics, give ideas, share pictures of your charecters, and basically become friends with your fellow Lyzzies.
